President Breaks Gridlock on Disaster Aid
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) today released the text of emergency supplemental appropriations legislation to help millions of Americans recover and rebuild from recent natural disasters. The measure provides $19.1 billion in relief for states and territories recently ravaged by tornadoes, flooding, hurricanes, wildfires, earthquakes, volcanoes, typhoons, and other such events. Conferees Introduce Legislation to Secure Border, Fund Government
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senate and House conferees today filed a comprehensive appropriations package that contains a bipartisan agreement on border security and completes government funding for the current fiscal year. The legislation provides $22.54 billion in total border security funding, including $1.375 billion for 55 new miles of physical barriers in the most needed areas along the southwest border. The Senate and House will vote on the package this week, prior to the funding deadline of Friday, February 15.
