Senate Passes Bipartisan Budget Agreement
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) today released the following statement regarding Senate passage of the bipartisan budget agreement, which sets defense and nondefense spending levels for FY2020 and FY2021:
“I am pleased the Senate has passed this bipartisan budget deal, which will allow us to fund the government and continue rebuilding our military. I look forward to coming together, both Republicans and Democrats, so that we can complete our work on the FY2020 appropriations bills as soon as possible. The American people deserve no less.”
The budget deal was passed by the House of Representatives last week and will now move to the President’s desk for his signature.
