Senate Passes Measure to Fund Government Through December 20
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) today released the following statement regarding Senate passage of the short-term continuing resolution (CR) to maintain government operations through December 20, 2019. The legislation was passed in the Senate by a vote of 74–20.
“This measure keeps the government open and allows our discussions on the fiscal 2020 process to continue. I am hopeful that we can reach a resolution soon so we can provide government agencies – our military, in particular – the funding and flexibility they need to operate efficiently and effectively.”
The CR, H.R. 3055, funds federal government operations at FY2019 levels through December 20, 2019. The measure, which was passed in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, will now be sent to the President for his signature.
