National Security Appropriations Package Passed by Senate, FY20 Process Complete

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The United States Senate today passed the second of two FY2020 comprehensive appropriations packages, H.R. 1158, by a vote of 81-11.  The legislation includes spending measures for the Appropriations Subcommittees on Department of Defense; Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies; Financial Services and General Government; and Homeland Security.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The United States Senate today passed H.R. 1865 by a vote of 71-23.  The legislation is the first of two FY2020 comprehensive appropriations packages and contains measures for the Appropriations Subcommittees on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies; Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies; Energy and Water Development; Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies; Legislative Branch; Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies; State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs; and Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies.

Shelby Applauds Bipartisan Cooperation, Encourages Colleagues to Support FY20 Spending Packages to Fully Fund Govt

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) today delivered remarks on the Senate floor ahead of procedural votes on two comprehensive appropriations packages containing all 12 FY2020 bills – H.R. 1158 and H.R. 1865.  The legislation was passed by the House of Representatives on Tuesday.  Chairman Shelby thanked his colleagues for their bipartisan work and urged them to support the packages in an effort to protect our Southern border and deliver funding for our troops on the ground – providing our men and women in uniform with the resources needed to protect our nation.
